My Father’s Will

Jesus was completely surrendered to His Father’s will.

Matt 10:16-20 “I am sending you out as sheep among wolves. Be as wise as serpents and harmless as doves.

17 But beware! For you will be arrested and tried, and whipped in the synagogues. 18 Yes, and you must stand trial

before governors and kings for My sake. This will give you the opportunity to tell them about Me, yes, to witness to the world.

19 When you are arrested, don't worry about what to say at your trial, for you will be given the right words at the right time.

20 For it won't be you doing the talking-it will be the Spirit of your heavenly Father speaking through you!”  The Living Bible

Matt 10:28-31  "Don't be afraid of those who want to kill you. They can only kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can

destroy both soul and body in hell.  29 Not even a sparrow, worth only half a penny, can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it.

30 And the very hairs on your head are all numbered.  31 So don't be afraid; you are more valuable to him than a whole flock of sparrows.”  NLT

Matt 10:38-40  “If you refuse to take up your cross and follow Me, you are not worthy of being Mine.  39 If you cling to your life, you will lose it;

but if you give it up for Me, you will find it. 40 "Anyone who welcomes you is welcoming me, and anyone who welcomes me is welcoming

the Father Who sent Me.”  NLT

God will reward you in Heaven!

Jesus went on to say in verse 42  “And if you give even a cup of cold water to one of the least of my followers, you will surely be rewarded."  NLT

Jesus’ heart and mind was completely surrendered to the Father.

John 14:10-11   “The words I say are not my own, but my Father who lives in me does his work through me.

11 Just believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me.”  NLT

John 14:12-14  "The truth is, anyone who believes in Me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going

to be with the Father.  13 You can ask for anything in My name, and I will do it, because the work of the Son brings glory to the Father.”  NLT

God has no obligation to answer our prayers if we’re in sin in any part of our lives.

1.   Realize Who God Is

2.   Realize Who You Are

You are, we are a creation of God – we are what God decided to make!

Eph 2:10 “For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”  NIV

Eph 2:19-20  “Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God's people and members of God's household…”

Eph 5:8-10  “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light 9(for the fruit of the light consists

in all goodness, righteousness and truth) 10 and find out what pleases the Lord.”  NIV

3.  Humbly Submit to Father – God.

James 4:7-8  “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Come near to God and he will come near to you.”

10  “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.”  NIV

Humility is a choice.

Our Greatest Example of Personal Humility and Professional Will is Jesus Christ.

I’ll say this during the clip (so it doesn’t need to be on the screen because the clip will be playing)

“The Bible says that Jesus humbled Himself to endure the cross, yet was determined to finish the job –

the will of His Father – He was humble enough not to fight back, when He could.  Yet He had the will to keep going despite the pain.

He was humble enough not to say to all those condemning and acussing Him that they would all soon burn in Hell, He even asked Father-God

to “forgive them”!  Yet Jesus was not weak, He endured and was    surrendered to His Father’s will – surrendered to the job He had to accomplish

            – to die for our sins so that we could reign with Him in Heaven.  Jesus was our greatest example of Humility & Vision.”
